We decided to round the edges which we've provided instructions for - it's a little tricker so definitely worth having a go if you want to challenge your woodworking skills. “Hi Al & Imo, thanks for sending through your plans for the surfboard rack. Ive just finished mine and the plans were excellent and easy to follow.
To reduce costs I stripped some old 90x35mm treated pine boards in half to build the side frame, so had to paint them. I also used a liming white oil for the back board (old off cut of an unknown timber type) so the colour matched the Tassie Oak dowels.

I converted the measurements to Imperial. I followed them pretty close. I just made sure the proportions looked okay.

I used your surfboard plans to make this for a friend for his birthday and his wake boards. I made it out of Sapele, Danish oil finish and used decking sheet for the bottom as he likes to store his boards outside as you can see. Thanks for the inspiration.

“Thanks for the plan -have made a version in jarrah-it looks great- putting it into action this week when I transport it to my place in Margaret River. Here is the finished product. Put some braces in and did not cut the check in the base but rather put the base plate across the flat. Nice and sturdy. Happy days !
